i have brushgunned several hogs during the day and at night. mostly its about practice. your dogs also need to be use to being shot around. my dogs on the shot go for a catch, so there is no time for a second shot. another thing, if you dont have a clear shot at the head and you are using a large caliber firearm, go for the back or hip to break the hog down. no sense in letting the race get longer. there is nothing like brushgunning a hog at 10 feet and it is a real rush also. and remember, keep you eyes on the dog.
