Sounds just like a cut on my dog, same description, same spot and same size. He tore it open on barbed wire fence. I left it open, sprayed Vetricyn every day and he stayed in about 12 days until it was down to just a little scab in the center of where the the cut was. He could have probably gone outside in about a week, the open part was healed over but it hadn't closed up all the way
