A dog will always be rougher in a pen than in the woods in my opinion. If your dog is getting rough with pigs in a pen. It is time to change pigs or stop going to the pen.

another thing that can happen...a young dog that has caught and over powered smaller hogs in a bay pen can become over confident...and the first time he meets up with a toothie boar out in the woods might be his last...or can be cut pretty bad before he realizes his mistake...I have made that error before...
