cscott, you can't have too much country when lion hunting.  I typically road my dogs and an average day, will road them for 30 miles if I have the real estate.  I can not speak for Jesse Paul but the smallest ranch I hunt in the Big Bend region is 10,000 acres.  It is good for a one day hunt and if the lions are there, I know the two or three canyons that they will be in.  I can drive down two of them and have to walk the third but can still get it done in one day.  When I hunt this ranch, I always have another ranch in the area that I can hunt so that I don't travel that far to hunt just one day.
Adios,
Gary
