Dog killed

I love reading all the posts from the bada**es on here... If everyone on here did what they say they would do if it happened to them there wouldn't be anyone on the board any more cause everyone would be in jail.
To start with, his buddy probably wouldn't be in the situation he is in if he didn't have the firearm on him. You know firearms make people invincible, kinda like the liquid courage... I agree that the other guy shouldn't have shot his dog but at the end of the day it is a dog and there is no need to end up in a worse situation because of a dog. The law has remedies in place to take care of issues like this, you just have to be willing to get them involved BEFORE you do something stupid because once you have done something, such as challenge another person with a firearm, you have taken the focus off of the dog and put it onto what you have done. If it comes down to a dog's life and an assault on a human the human's rights and well being should always take precedence over any animal's life regardless of species. I have yet to have one of my dogs shot or even threatened to be shot if they get on someone else's property. I like to talk to as many people around the places I hunt before I ever turn a dog loose. I also ask the landowner whose place I am hunting on to contact the neighbors that he can and let them know what is going on so if I show up on their propert or at their front door asking to get my dogs they are prepared and so far it has worked out for me. I understand that not all people are ok with dogs and/or people on their property and that is where the GW comes into play. Develop a good relationship with the local GWs and they will help out and prevent situations like these. If this becomes a pattern then the GW may start to question things though so you have to do your best to keep dogs out of places they shouldn't be. That's just my opinion on the situation and what works for me. Do what y'all want to but in my opinion a PUBLIC forum isn't any place to say what you would if this happens to you because if/when it does and you retaliate then you have just put evidence against you out there for everyone to see including law enforcement. Trust me, you never know who is law enforcement and who isn't... just saying
