I’ll second what JDT, all that sounds good theoretically but I think it makes much of a difference, if it’s bred into them they will do it no matter how much they’ve smelled a certain smell, now doing what your talking about doing will benefit them in the boredom dept, most issues away from health the root cause is a dogs bored, especially working dogs, they need something to occupy their mind when not hunting, I’m always giving all my dogs bones or pieces of hide to chew on to give them something to focus their attention on, other than sitting in a pen or a chain all day, I just about always have pups of some sort and various ages running around and I give them all the bones and heads of the deer and hogs we kill, I’ve never seen anything that will put weight on pups like a hog head will...
