It's in full swing down here they just banned greyhound racing for claims of animal cruelty and that was big big money down here.If they can take that dog huntin will be easy. There were three tracks within 30 miles of me one was owned by the Daytona speedway and a brand new casino style track probably less than 5 years old big big money facility.
I was heart broken when I found out the tracks had been shut down, from the time I was 2 until 18 I spent every summer I'm Florida at my grandmothers in Panama City, she lived right on St. Andrew bay, we would visit the track in Ebro several times a week because I LOVED it, I couldn't wait to take my son this coming summer, he'll be 6, and at the age he could remember it and appreciate it, I hate to be the pessimist in the bunch but our way of life is quickly coming to an end, all throughout the US, all in the name of progress, there's more and more of these, "tree hugger" type people getting out and rallying and voting for legislature to end any forms of hunting and dog hunting is the easiest to take away, I follow most all dog related issues throughout the country and every year there's more legislature brought up to end the use of sporting dogs, I had the same thought as you Cracker, if they ended a big money business in FLa over the claim of animal cruelty then dog hunting will be even easier because the cash flow there is only limited to a small market, and using working dogs in Florida for any type of game is as deeply embedded as the term "cracker" is, people I urge everyone of y'all to pay attention to changes in county ordinances because that's where it starts, the parish I live in is a rural parish but now we have a leash law where you can't let your dogs run free, I live in violation of this law everyday and will continue to do so, our sherif lives less than 5 miles from me and his son and I grew up together, he stopped me at the store one day and asked me about my dogs, I was as polite as I could be when I told him it was BS and that I wouldn't abide by it and that should be the least of his concerns when we have heroin epidemic that's taking people's lives but yet they turn a blind eye and want to go after something easy and harass the working class law abiding citizens...
