Once upon a time, I had this ole dog, a crackerjack of a dog. Problem was when I got in an area where there were multiple hogs, I would hear him bark once about every 30 or 40 seconds in the same spot. I'd go to him and he would have a hole beat out where he was bouncing right left right left. I knew he was a good dog I just didn't realize how good. One day it happened and when I got there his nose was bleeding pretty good on one side. So I leashed him up and took him back to the truck. I stuck a piece of tape over that cut. He was bouncing wanting to go because he was winding hogs. So I let him go. He went and bayed hog after hog. It took a while for that cut to heal so I just kept putting tape over. He never got stuck on track again while I was putting tape over that side of his nose. Soon as I didn't he got hung up again. What I figured out was to keep one nostril taped when I hunted him because he was running 2 hogs at a time. When they split up he couldn't decide which track to abandon.

Must be a litter mate to one I got, have to calibrate him like a garmin and if you want to run deer you cock his tail once and if you want to run hogs you cock his tail twice lol...
