Im not as knowledgable as most about trapping but pretty sure it doesnt do much for control. I kill every hog I catch and never had an issue about not being enough hogs. Dont think you can effectively manage the hogs if you trap, dog, rifle hunt helicopter or all of the above.

For my area.....flying a place will kill more hogs than any method, but I think dogging is the most cost efficient and productive for individual ranches or areas.

I agree with Mike...cause I have seen it first hand as well...dogs will keep them moved out. It could cause a concentration in other areas but those are probably areas that dont care or dont allow dogs.
