I’ve tried it all, and the good names never make it hardly. Now I either let the kids, or the wife come up with something til it sounds right. I use to have a list if I thought one was good, I’d write it down.  Nowadays I try and let the dog name themselves with a quirk, color, attitude, or something like that.

I’m not superstitious, maybe ALIL-stitious, but wouldn’t ever name a dog after one I’ve culled and wasted a name on, but may have to change that I’m running low on names
