You said they were holding the bay and you busted it. Then had a walking bay. Sounds like she shut the hog down and did her job to me. Not trying to criticize you, but I don’t see her fault?

Good hogs.
No worries Jeff. She did not and does not shut hogs down. This particular boar didn’t really want to run and probably would have rebayed sooner if she wasn’t pressuring him. It worked out, the boar bayed in more open country and gave the catch dogs a clean shot.

Her fault is that if she is on a hog for more than a couple minutes, she stops baying it and starts getting in too close nipping at it like a Heeler. She then gets ran over/rolled up causing the other bay dog(s) to jump in to help her. Then they get wrecked with her. If she’s in a sounder, she will harass them, make them run, and catch a shoat. She would rather escalate the conflict than bark/bay. I’ve hunted her quite a bit and watched her work hogs enough to understand her. She needs a home with a pack of rough dogs or a pet/ranch Home. Your welcome to her if your looking for something like her.
