Sorry to hear about that Cajun. Seems like I’ve had everything happen this year that can as well. I accidentally ran over my 7 month old plott a couple months ago trying to road him before a rain. Then weeks after that we went hunting the weekend before bow season, the dogs casted out and it sounded like they jumped something then silence. They weren’t far and hunted around. I went to the truck to beat them to the road and my possum dog was locked up at someone’s gate he wouldn’t budge. I ran into the land owner and asked permission to get my dog He acted real weird but I didn’t hear any gun shots or nothing so I didn’t think any different. When I got to him and picked him up I knew it was bad the way his back leg looked but it seemed like everytime I handled it I had a different explanation and no idea of anything to be wrong with it by the time we got home. The plott seems to be healing fine and is starting to put weight on it. I just put him back on a chain a last week to rehabilitate some and get ready for after deer season. Possum on the other hand is hit or miss he is usually holding it up. I’m honestly thinking donkey there is sometimes one in those woods I heard. Or the guy ran him down in the sxs
