When I started hunting with Thomas back in 07 I think, I stuck my first hog with a folding Kershaw. I couldn't afford a good knife that I thought had the features I wanted so I started making them as I had met a journeyman knife maker. He got me started and the shop I worked out of had a gas forge, a coal forge and a 60 Beaudry power hammer. I made some ugly knives until I got things figured out. I have made 2 or 3 hundred since I started. I have still never sold a knife, many have gone to those that hunt with us or to friends. Most that I have made go to worthy fundraisers. Most all I have made are a hunting or skinning knife with the hunter style having a good finger guard and those that go to hog hunters usually will have 7 or 8" blades.
