   It's probably just me and my old fashioned ways, but I would be leary of keeping a dog in a heated enclosure or ac either one since I do on occasion hunt when it is really cold or hot. I'd be afraid they couldn't acclimate as well, people have issues with that as well, take someone on a long walk that has been in the ac set at 65 when it is 105 and they probably can't stand it long.
  I have noticed Ol'Blue doesn't take the cold as well as the Plotts or BMC"s due to being much finer haired, and usually finer haired mammals have a thinner hide as well.  Not to the point it is dangerous for him, but I can tell he is not as comfortable when he gets out of his deeply bedded barrel.
