Its funny the difference in hunting styles.  If I see hogs in a field, I wont dump my dogs on them.  I will wait until they leave.  I want my dogs to find them on there own.  Im not saying I never have done it but it is a rare occasion.

I do the same thing when I'm training dogs, that's a great way to see what a dog will do with a track.

But when I'm in "business mode"  Grin, I like my dogs to be looking for them with their eyes as well as their nose.... saves a lot of running around smelling for a track, when a dog already has a mental picture of where the hog is, or is going...

My Ellie dog could see a shoat running from a thousand yds, that dog had natural bi-nock-u-lar vision!  Cheesy
