I agree with Bump. Shorts and tennis shoes are the way to go.  I have even woar flip flops in the corn and milo feilds. I dont worry about snakes at all. First you can almost always smell cotton mouths before you get to close smells like a skunk and over the last few years they have been rattling their tales against the grass to tell you where they are at so all you have to do is just step around them.
