Me and my buddies have been hitting this patch of woods about 15 miles from the house. It is high in the front of the property with basically a sage field that the hogs have been hitting pretty good. Towards the back is a good swamp that im sure the hogs are holding up in. Well our dogs have been hunting the big sage field pretty good getting on hogs everytime. The only problem is they are catching nothing but shoats!!!!!! Sometimes its dang small shoats!!!!!!Im talkin 5lbs. What is going wrong??? I know they got bigger hogs there, but why are my dogs only catching the shoats? ? Any help

You aint doing nothing wrong so keep hunting. They'll start getting bigger eventually. In me experience, when a sounder is bayed the shoalts are the first to break and run. An obvious choice for your hog dogs. I've also witnessed boars nose smaller hogs and shoalts right to the dogs like a gift. More likely a sacrifice so he can get the hell gone after your dogs take to it! lol When the little ones are outta the way the big ones have to play!

I forgot to put this question in my first post, could a bunch of shoats running around cause a normally DEAD SILENT dog to open up a little bit because of all the little pigs running around them?

I would say yes. It just depends on the dog but I could see it happening under the right circumstances. I wouldn't worry about it to much if he is like you say "normally DEAD SILENT".
