so i finally got my buddy to go hunting with me(my college roommate and teammate). we cut out around 8 or so and the dogs bayed in about 15min. they got quiet, i heard a squeal so we started going that way, then it quiet again. we thought we heard a bay far off so we started walking that way. long story short we walked about 25-30min then turned around and the dogs were bayed right were we had left from earlier Angry i just got a dogo gyp that is catching already so i was real excited to see her get another catch in the woods under belt. well i cut her loose too far from the bay and the bay broke and she never made it there. sunny(bmc) and kopa(bmc/dogo...half sister to the dogo) stopped the boar again so we were off that way.

they originally bayed in a somewhat open area and my buddy was going to take a shot with his 45cal assault rifle, cause we didn't have the catchdog. when the bay moved the boar went into a more thick area. we were up on a fallen tree trying to get a good vantage point and the hog tried to break again and sunny went to spin him and as he spun she tried to dart out of the way and hit a sapling and the hog got her pretty bad. put a 6-8in gash on her side, had a big piece of her skin just hanging there. when the hog bit her i called her to me when she was able to get away, she stayed by me for about 30sec then she went right back to retrack the boar(how about that for heart!). i had to call her off so i could get her some attention.

we finally got out of the woods and i was going to sew her up at home but then i saw she had another gash at the base of her legs were guts are adn ti thought i saw them hangin out. so i thought it would be best to take her to a vet to get looked at. the vet said it was her mammory glands and she stapled her up and gave me an anit-inflammitory and some antibiotics for $130. i went back out there to try to find teh dogo and spent another 4hrs trying to find her, saw her and tried to run her down with teh truck and she darted in the woods just as we got close to her. did some searching and found some kids yesterday that had seen and had actually played with her. i also talked to krystal(cuz she had on an uglydog vest with the number on the side) and let herknow that if anyone calls about a big white dog it was mine. lucky me today i get the call from krystal that a lady has my dog.

there are still good people out there. only by the grace of god my dog has made it back to me. i'm pissed because i didn't get the hog that cut up my dog, i promise you i will find him and he WILL meet his maker!!! next i have to seriously save my money and get me a garmin tracker. i'm also debating getting my dogs bayvest just as a precaution...i'm thinking that i would just be better off getting a staple gun and be done with it..i will say this..my two strike dogs are for real. they consistantly impress me each time out. the frequency at which they are finding hogs and how theya re getting better and better at actually stopping them. the next hurdle is getting them to not come to me when i come up to the bay. they will come to me for approval, then run back and bay again. none the less these two are serious about what they are doing at 1.5yrs and 1y/o, these two some good ones. my next job is to get this dogo going to teh bay everytime, i've seen her catch already so i know she knows how to do it, just got to get her on more hogs.

Glad everything worked out and you were able to get your dog back. I know that is a sick feeling when you can't find one.

Hey Josh that sounds like a heckuva a hunt, and glad sunny is producing for you. Wish you could have caught the hog instead of having to call your dogs out, but i understand y you had to do it. Also i have a brother to sunny that is the same color as her and a big dog like the dad but he is ready for a new home Grin Let me know if interested.

i'm going to talk to the wife to see if we can hook it up for this sat. richard i might know of someone that may want him..how much you want for him..i got some kids i coach that are looking to get into hog hunting. sunny is producing well for me..she is my #1 that's why i had to get her out of there. that was a nasty hog and with it being as thick as it was i didn't need her getting cut up anymore than she was or getting my other dog cut up.
