Im going to let the boy take 1 older strike dog I don't hunt much anymore and a couple help dog and a 3rd string catch dog to get started. All I asked him if one gets killed replace him.
No strings attached when he finds some dogs he can give mine back.
This will let him atleast get started during prime hunting season.
And will give him some knowledge of what he likes and dislikes.
Im trying to support our fun.
We need people like this to stand behind us.
Just remember guy and gals we were all here at one point.

Southtexasdogger,  I'm glad to see that there are people out there like you. You are right, we've all been in his place before. From my experience, people don't sell their " good " dogs. I know that I wouldn't. All the best dogs I've seen were free, but it takes time to build a pack. Rthrahan, best of luck to ya, and welcome to the most addictive sport around.

Southtexasdogger you are one hell of a guy for helping that guy like you are,I honestly dont know anyone that would do what you are doing for this young man. This sport needs more people  like you.Another thing I really like is that you ruined a bunch of dog jockeys day Evil,I bet they were chomping at the bit to steal that guys moneys.

Thats what I was trying to do.
Id rather take a whippin then be lied to.
Especially when a seller stands there face to face with you and lies about some pure BS.
This is whats happen to this sport.
Honest people expect to be told the truth.
The others expect to be lied to because they lie themselves.
I've rodeoed my whole life until a couple years ago.
I have sold several real nice team roping horse for alot of money($25,000+)
We give these buyers 30day trial if they don't like them bring them back no questions asked.
These dog jocky's out there most of them are selling dogs to pay the bills.
Once the money is exchanged hands Its spent, even if you tryed to return the dog they don't have the money any longer So your not ever getting it back.
Honesty will always be a bond.

If we all helped each other instead of trying to cut each others throats.
Just think how good it could be for everyone.
When I started 20 yrs ago An old timer took me under his wing and showed me the sport.
When I thought I new everything he brought me back down to earth.
When I bought dogs he was there along my side ( sometimes I wish he was'nt) But it kept me from making alot of costly mistakes.
Don't take me wrong I took my far share believe me.
He always told me never believe anyone that is broke. They will lie to their own mothers to sell something.
Not saying everyone thats broke is a crook,Im saying there is more broke crooks than wealthy ones.
The best dogs I've ever bought or owned were dogs that other poeple hunted and did not like for some reason or another.
I would like the same for this guy. To look back and say 20 yrs ago etc................
