Went hunting last night with my rooster dog( male ybmc great dog) a redbone( jury is still out whether he's worth feeding) and a ybmc female( nice young dog). We were road hunting the dogs and came around the curve an my rooster and the redbone had a freaking skunk stretched out.. The windows were down in the truck, I have never gagged so hard in my life. I told rooster to let it go and he did , the stinking redbone was carrying the skunk down the road.. What a buzz kill!! to top the night off about and hour later Ole Rooster bayed the other dogs fell in baying and then we heard grunting we get to the bay and Rooster was caught the Redbone was not barking but starring at the hog like he wanted to grab but didnt the female was baying her butt off. It's was a 125lbs boar, now a Barr. The dogs made up for catching the skunk the dogs still stink though!!

similar thing happened to me 1 nite. we bayed 2 skunks and 2 dillars and then a couple hrs went onto hogs. i wouldnt agree 100% that skunks smell good, but after smelling the dogs for days and the collar for months, the smell of a skunk aint to bad anymore

Why should I trade one tyrant three thousand miles away for three thousand tyrants one mile away? An elected legislature can trample a man's rights as easily as a king can!

I have a dog that don't trash and when other dogs trash she comes right beside me like she is telling me that she did not do anything. Well one night another dog started a bay and the RCD's were right there and my gyp went running in right as the skunk started to spray the dogs good. My gyp came straight to me like she always does. She had been hit and would not get away from me because she wanted to make sure she was not in trouble. By the time she went back to hunting I smelled like I had been sprayed. The funny part was that I did not even notice it on me. I got home in the wee hours of the morning and my wife was mad at me because she could smell my clothes that were outside. I had to sleep in my truck. Guess I am just used to it.
