ok got a yr old cur dog she bites or beats her tail til it bleeds then gets it every where any suggestions will a vet dock it or anything will help . ?

Got a gyp that does the same thing, Boredom.  I tried spraying it down with the blue spray it slowed her down a bit.

you dont want to dock her tail, she has learned to walk with that tail and docking it could cause her balance issues. I have two big 130# CD's that beat thier tails so bad I thought they were going to bleed to death, they eventually callused over. If it doesnt heal up soon you may have to treat it with an anti bacterial ointment with some flyspray mixed in to keep the flies from irritating it. JMO

The dreaded "happy tail" is what I call it. Other than a slight inconvenience, had a few dogs with. Some were worse than others, but never had any problems with it.
