I am trying to get a land owner to let me hunt on his land , I know there are hogs on it but he just don't trust my dogs to not run off all of his deer. any advice would be helpful. He is a nice guy just dosen't know anything about hunting with dogs . I already hunt varmint on his land and he is greatful for it I just don't know how to get through to him.

invite him to go with you and bring only trash broken dogs and put shocking collars on your grown dogs just to give him reassurance...heck you dnt even have to turn them on do this until you have gained his trust

I have offered to take him and to his credit he is a little Hmmmmmm how do I say this Too Old He said he would if he was ten years younger hell he is only 93 . But still is mean as a snake , but just don't get around to good any longer.

You can try all you want, but my guess is you will have a hard time changing a 93 year old's mind about anything. There was a study by A unversity in North or South Carolina that tracked deer movement of deer that were actually being run by deer dogs, and the results showed they come right back. Try explaining to him that even if your dogs do run a deer, chances are that same deer will be in the same general area the next day. Good luck.

When they outlawed deer running in Texas they used my dogs in Sour Lake,we jumped the deer off this little island in the middle of a swamp and every morning for 4 days the deer would be back the next morning and the state lied and said the deer didnt return.They even darted the deer to find out if the dogs stressed the deer and found that had no effect on them either.What it all boiled down to is that rich people dont like deer dogs or really any type of dog hunting for that matter,they would rather sit in there heated stands with thier laptops while hunting.

BINGO WELL SAID BULLMASTER a man i know from church owns little over a thousand acres out Del Rio way and has never had hogs until a few months ago and instead of letting me take one friend and 5 dogs for FREE he paid a chopper because he didn't want the deer to become stressed.  |

Thanks guys I think the Idea of more deer because of less hogs might be just the ticket . I really like the guy but he is one of them guys that if he likes you he is mean to you and if he don't like you well I would hate to be on that man's number 2 list . I think i might even show him this thread. Well thank's for all your help .
