I think a good blood hound crossed with anything would be a good trackin dog.  Cool

I agree with Ninja and think he would make a great tracking dog but as with all hound crosses you might have to worry about that mouth. If an open dog doesnt bother you I think it would be an excellent cross. On the other hand I have seen Walkers that were quite as a mouse unless they were in a hogs face. You never know what your gonna get until you try it.

I got one!  Is there any such thing as having too much drive...if I could only control the drive.  Mine started tracking wounded deer, but she would trash on live deer, hogs, and javies.  I am converting her over to hogs.  Did I mention she has alot of drive.  Nose to the ground and gone..she has been roaded once and has been working a hog in a 1 acre pen.  She is doing great!  Zapping her off deer next. Well see how she does.  Big dog.

I HAVE BLOODHOUNDS,THAT IS A GOOD CROSS ,BLOODHOUND HAS STRONGEST NOSE OF ANY DOG MINE ARE MANTRAILERS,OLD PEOPLE, YOUNG KIDS NOT AGGRESSIVE NO MOUTH ON TRAIL TILL THEY ARE LOOKIN AT THAT PERSON OR SCENT....THAT IS WHY THEY ARE CONSIDERD SCENT SPECIFIC.IF TRAINED AN HANDLE RIGHT,THEY LIKE LOTS OF PRAISE FOR GOOD JOB........BABY TALK HELPS WITH DRIVE IF THEY SHOULD SLACK OR GET BOARD, THEY FEED OFF OF YOUR DRIVE.

I think that a blood hound and catahoula mix is absolutly the Best!! I lost my heart to one...the best dog Ive ever had.  Smart, affectionate towards everyone, social with other dogs, good tracker and great at catching and holding his own!!

This was my Jay Jay, lost him to Psuedo Rabies this past January.
