Does anyone on here run catahoula bulldogs? From the research i have done i would like to give them a shot. Does that catahoula  in them really show when it comes to sniffin out a pig and when they get to the pig are they good at stopping them>? I know each dog no matter the breed will be different but as a whole i would like to hear peoples experiences with them.

I have a catahoula x Pitt. She is a strike dog w/ great nose. She bays about the same as the other pure breeds. I think it's best if tha momma is the catahoula. She favors her more. Still a muscular dog though.

Not sure what my .02 cents are worth but I have a young started cat/pit and she is CRAZY on a hog. Her dad is my main catchdog and she is crazier than him. The mom is really laid back. So far not alot of hunt but I'm hoping she just needs time. Friend of mine used to hunt a cat/pit, said it was one of the best dogs he ever owned. I guess it all depends on what traits they inherit from each parent. At the least you will have good rough help dog.

google BullCats, and you should get all kinds of answers. I have has several crosses of AB/Cur and Pit /Cur, My females have always been the cur and I get alot of the cur traitsin some pups and more bull traits in others traits. Most of my females have quite abit of grit to them to start with. The one I keep for myself I treat and raise like a cur and so they tend to bay with catching in the back of their mind. Other folks that have some from same litters raise them up letting them catch and build confidence and they have straight catch. I don't let mine work hogs small enough that they get to catch, and wait till they are older and bigger before introducing them in the first place, so if they get to close they will get bumped around and figure it out.

Just My Opinion that alot depends on your goals and how you work them towards the goal.
