A myth for some and a reality for others. Either way I am happy I cant relate to them!

I bought and sold lots and lots of bird dogs. Not so many hog dogs but it is about the same. If a guy is getting rid of a dog it is his worst dog.

Some guys do sell out though. One guy I hunt with bought every dog this guy had, his box, his trailer, everything. Now I believe that guy was selling out.

If i did stop i wouldnt keep dogs in a yard or on a chain that have hunted all thier life, to waist them and watch them die a worse death than being killed by a hog. If i did stop hunting or were forced to stop hunting, to the point that I couldnt even train any dogs then every thing i own would go, first would be to my sons, then some would be given to friends, some sold but there is no way in hell I would make them suffer the same thing i was just because for what ever reason i couldnt take them to do what they loved and were bred to do.

Even my catch dog that has lost all four canines still comes out of retirement about once every 60 days for special hunts just for that purpose because I know he loves it and I can see it kills him not to be a part of the pack. I would much rather see him die from a boar hog than in my sons back yard, all I have done by simi retirement of him is assure his life is longer, healther, and we get pups out of him.
