Went out this morning with Jet308 ( jarred ) and Catchdog ( JR ) to a spot by Jarreds house. We turn out about 6 and start walking. The dogs bay up a little shoat and end up catching him. We let my new bulldog practice on him alittle bit since this was his first hog in the woods. He ends up dragging him backwards over about a 7 or 8 foot creek bank.  Grin

We walk the dogs on out a little bit and start to head back to the truck due to it starting to get hot. Then JRs dog bays up a good ways out in a thicket. We knew it had to be a good hog or he would have caught it before we got to him. We finally get there with the bulldogs and cut them loose. We get in there right after them and they have him caught in a very skinny, high bank creek and he is going to work on the dogs. We get him legged and start pulling dogs off. That hog didnt have the biggest teeth, but they stuck out almost sideways and he knew how to use them. Had several dogs get cut, but they should all be ok. JRs dog Levi took 9 cuts and we found him about 50 yards down the creek. We get him out and clean him up, and JR got him home and sewed up. Hopefully he will make a full recovery before too long. But for the next couple of days he will be enjoying the air conditioning and watching TV.  Grin

The Boar went around 250, but felt like 400 pulling him out of the creek.  Cheesy

yeah i took that new yella dog, but she is nowhere near as rough as what she was suppose to be.
She wouldnt even catch the shoat with the other curs. When we caught the boar, she stayed at the top of the bank baying.   But atleast she was getting out there and at the bays.

They just caught him in a really bad spot and didnt have anywhere to go. A couple dogs that were down there werent even caught because the pig had them smashed against the bank with his body.

Had a good hunt this morning but could have done with out that pig. Now all I got is pups to hunt I'm ready for them to grow up and start finding pigs. But I guess that's the name of the game.

Yeah I'm glad to have that hog gone.  He was a mean dude.  My two dogs are still hurting today but they're doing better.  It was a good hunt.

Thanks Paul, my dogs get lucky every now and then and find a hog or two! But i doubt they could show your dogs how to get it done.
Sometimes they hunt like they are finished dogs and other times they  act like they have never been to the woods before.
I guess they do good for a pack of young dogs though.

Let me know when yall plan on going, and i will see if i can make it. Its hard to make a good hunt right now unless you turn out at 3 in the morning.  Undecided

Trent, I believe all dogs act like that every now and then, Clay died on me a couple of months ago, he was the only predictable dog I have ever hunted with. Now the rest of the pack has to step up! Phillip and I have been turning out about 10 PM and hunting all night. We are still catching plenty of hogs but without a doubt the good weather is GONE!!!!!
