Sitting at home baby sitting on a beautiful day while the wife's out working has got me hankering for some good couch potato food. Just to show her I could handle it,  I straightened up the house and made a freaking awesome buttermilk pie and now to keep me from eating the pie I would like some of yalls favorite salsa recipes

One can extra hot rotel
one block cream cheese.

drain rotel and mix into cream cheese. serve hot or cold.

its not salsa but it is  yummy.

Maria Garcia makes good " salsa insano " by boiling tomatoes, tomatillos, jalapenos, and onions. She drains the water and puts it in the blender with some salt and a wad of cilantro. mmm

cheers

Second the motion on angel's salsa. Good stuff.

Waylon, jls41 (jolynne) makes a buttermilk pie that is famous in three states and Mexico. I can't even explain what it is, but if she ever offers to make you one, you will eat it until you pass out. When you wake up from your sugar induced coma, you will immediately dive back into the pie.

Uglydog, how would you describe buttermilk pie?

Its buttermilk, sugar, butter, and eggs. I'm sworn to secresy on the specifics but my wife's grandma used make the best one on the planet, then she shared the recipe with me and she's regretted that decision ever since Evil. I don't do much well but I'll enter my pie in any contest any time  Shocked

Thanks t Bob, I had no idea what was in it. Jolynne makes a good one though. As I type this, Chris' youngest daughter is in the kitchen making a cake. See what you started?

For a good un-cooked salsa, i don't measure anything but i put tomatoes, onion, peppers, cilantro, and a little salt in a food processor and pulse it a few times. You really can't mess it up and its good for you too.

Dinah,

That's about what I do.  My salsa is never the same, but it is always HOT.

I like mine uncooked too. Never measure anything. I did learn not to use a whole pound of fresh jalapenos! But I use everything fresh and uncooked. It is really good on a hot day. Sometimes if I feel like it I just chop everything with a knife. The blender makes it a little smoother but I always leave it with pieces. Chill all the ingredients and chill it when finished. Just play with it and then you will have to eat it.
