This morning left out to go and gather some woods cows!!I took several dogs!!I loaded some pups just to let them go for the ride!!Let them go and they left with the big dogs!!We got to them bayed and Sandy Out of my Ellie gyp and Bigo's Bear dog was right in the lead with her moma!!These dogs stayed bayed and bunched for about 3 hours and Sandy never left the lead!!Craig that is one pup you are going to kick your self in the butt for sending back!LOL Sara did bay at first but when we started driveing she got lost and I had to go find her later!! We got that group of about 60 to the pens and went for another round! The dogs struck and Hershey was Barking on track and the pups were squicking running behind her sounded like a hog race I was about to get mad they went about 5 hundred yards and they were bayed! They had 3 head bayed and we drove them about 2 miles to the pens Sandy never left the lead again!!I wish I would have had pictures but it was thick and hard to keep up with the cattle!! It was a long hard day we started at daylight and just unsaddled about an hour ago!!
It is just nice to take pups to get them off the chains and they just fall in there and go to work like they new what to do!!

Martin C. it is hard to get a pup from me!!Not that my dogs are that good but when I breed I breed for me and might raise the whole litter!!Seems like the one's I pick leave and the one's my wife and kids pick stay!! Then I have to ask to borrow there dogs!!LOL I have been trying not to use my pups on cows because my wife and the hadl girls are hunting so much been just putting the on hogs! But this pup Sandy might just get put on cows and hogs!!Crystal my wife did not like her much she like Sara witch is out of Craigs dogs!!But yesterday she said man that little dog will work maybe I need to start hunting her!! I said NOW HOLD ON A SECOND!! She did not like her because Ellie her mom does not work for anyone but me and Sandy acts just like her mom!!She try's to hunt Ellie and she never leaves there feet but when I hunt her she will find me some hogs!! If someone else try's to handle her while we work cows she will quit!Ellie to me is a true handleing cow dog!!Maybe Sandy will be the same!!

i told my girls about Sandy baying like a champ and they shure were happy to hear that. she was spoiled from the time we picked her up from you ,she stayed in the house and got alot of extra attention till she got big enough to take care of her self, then she ran loose till she about starved all the cattle to death keeping them bayed all night. she loves to ride on the 4 wheeler too. tell crystal she is house broke too so she might have to move in.

The pup I'm keeping at the house from that cross acts kinda special himself, show him something once and he's got it. Since Bear has bruccelosis, Ole Pistol needs to come on and fill some big shoes.

The test showed swine bruccelosis. We finally got to talk wiyh a lady vet at A&Mthat is the resident expert on swine bruccelosis in dogs. Here is what I found out. You can random test thirty hog dogs and some will test positive. Some will not show any symptoms and get over it by themselves. Fourty five days of docycycline will cure 60 to 70% of cases and most of the rest can be cured with streptomycin. Some can not be cured. It is not as contagious as canine bruccelosis dog to dog. They will not pass it on unless they are hot with it, kinda like swamp fever in horses. It could come back on them kinda like malaria in some people. I would need to pull blood on him about two weeks before breeding him to make sure he was clean at the time. I don't know if its worth the risk. I will be able to train these pups with him though as soon as they get old enough to keep up.

Sure good to hear that about that pup Chance. Bob took her brother down to his house and I kept the two sisters to her and a gyp pup out of Clue's cowboy dog and Bear's sister here at the house to let em grow up. Those pups are real smart and are some falll out there bayin sap suckers. Tell ya this, ( and I love it!..lol ) a stranger dont want to test their air and walk in the yard alone.. We havent started them yet so I dont know yet what they gona do that really counts for something, but it wont be long and we'll get em started. Hope one or two of these start like your pup seems to have started, that was pretty impressive. I been all but living at a rehab center the last 6 weeks with Mom, been sort of out of comission. Finally got back to huntin last weekend and I'll say this about bear. It looks to me like he is feeling and looks better than he has in a long time. ..It's one of those cases where If he's feeling any effects of it now, A feller would need a hellicopter on steroids and lots more mule tape to hunt him when he feels better.. hahahah. That dog is really operatin like ya like em.
