hello everyone my names steven im new to this site i live in florida and try to hunt wenever i can. im only 18 and still in school i have a 1 and a half year old amereican bulldog (Tank) and a 1 and a half year old bmc (Boss) and a 4 month old half rednose pit half walker (Hoss)
well i get a call today from one of my buddies that has a friend that wants to go hunting that i have never hunted with before. so i agree to go out there i bring my bulldog and my bmc and his friend brings an 8 month old beagle the size of a chihuha an old curr dog a pittbull puppy and a boxer for a catch dog. well we unload the dogs and start walkin around the outskirts of a sawgrass marsh surrounded by woods after about twenty minutes of walkin my cur and his beagle take off into the woods so we follow up behind them the beagle is the first one to make it into the thick so he starts baying then my bmc find a way in and he starts baying strong. i get up to the edge of the thick and i hear the hog gruntin so we turn the catchdogs loose his boxer just starts walkin around and my bulldog tries to go straight through the thick but doesnt even make it two feet in without running into a wall of thorns so he tries to go around. wenever he makes it around the corner the hog breaks into the thick sawgrass leaving the dogs in the dust trying to go through the sawgrass but it was to thick keep in mind while all this is happening his 3 dogs were just sitting there so we let the dogs work for another 30 mins and decide to pack up with no hog only had one dog cut which was my cur but it wasnt bad gunna try it again thursday with sum other dogs and my dogs

well at least your getting smoked!  Man I havent seen a hog 2 weekends in a row! I live in fl as well I think the air boats run them off... I may need a new spot lol!  good luck hunting! |

Hey dont feel bad I went last night and got skunked (literally.) Went with a buddy and his dogs bayed a skunk. In turn so did one of my young dogs. It happens. Stay with it and try to run with some older dogs that know what they're doing. Good luck.
