His buck rough scored 133 5/8 and was 6.5+ This wasnt his first muzzleloader kill as he harvested a doe the evening before.  I was able to take a big fat doe as well on the trip and another member of the group who will remain nameless (unless anyone asks then Thomas or I will sing like a canary) missed a doe on the last morning.

We had a great time and Thomas definitely was the lucky hunter of the week pulling the best stand.  He saw several bucks of which 2 more were legal and bigger than the one he shot.  He was just unable to get a good shot while knowing if they were legal. I let him tell his hunt story.

PS Thomas you are welcome Wink

Ron, DC, and myself were drawn for a bow, muzzle loader or shotgun hunt in Edna.  After check in, we drew for stands.  I shot a doe the first afternoon while DC and Ron slept.  The next morning I saw two exceptional bucks but could not tell spread until they were out of shooting lane.  Ron shot a doe and DC slept at the pavillion woke up ate pop tarts then took a siesta.  Went out that afternoon saw this buck and a great 12 that I could not get a shot at.  Shot this deer once again while Ron slept and DC was playing Volleyball by the pavillion.  The next morning since I limited out everyone drew for my stand.  My hunting buddies drew the stand and opted to hunt together.  They saw two of the bucks I had seen but could not shoot then one of them missed a 27 yard shot at a doe with the same gun I had shot both of mine with.  We loaded up and the other member that was not Ron went with him to Goliad where he missed a hog that afternoon.  I was told that the guns he borrowed had screws missing on the scope rings and the barrels were bent.

It has been a great season so far my wife won't let me go any more until I get the heads out of my freezer.  Two personal bests one with a bow and one with the fire stick.  It just don't get better than that.
