This was our inventory weekend at work. I have two young guys, Matt and Cory, who've been wanting to go with me for a while. Luckily, I have a couple thousand acres right around the corner from the shop, so we made a quick hunt last night. Clay met us over there and we hunted for an hour or so and didn't even see a track. I knew a spot on the other end of the property where they usually bed up in the winter months. We headed over that way and the dogs struck as soon as we got there. Ended up with this young boar that Cory got to stick. Those two were tickled to death and were asking me this morning when we could go again.

Mike, you are spoiling the rookies.  You have to make them pay their dues before they can get a knife bloody.  Please tell me you at least pushed them in a creek before the hunt was over.  Wink

Looked like a fun hunt.

Richard, they wanted the hog to bbq... so they had to drag it about 300 yards through a briar infested clear cut. I think they both fell about 10 times... and they didn't have a flashlight. Grin

Good hunt!  Always fun to share the first time with people new to the sport.

I agree, Krystal.  Those guys are showing WAY too much teeth to have been taught the "Mike B. serious look".  Smiley

Mike,

Was that hog short snouted, or was that the angle of the camera? Nice looking boar, hope he tastes as good as he looks!

Cheers
