My ybmc was bit by a pit early on his private area, it was bleeding a little while then stop but it has swelled up a little and he dont yellep or anything when i touch it, i cleaned it real good and put medicine on it and he is inside now laying down, he acts like he has no energy or anything. its like he may be in shock. what is the best thing to do, i washed him and got him dry and got him in a little bed in the room away from everyone, he is sleeping. do i just need to watch him real close or what else can i do?

had a similar incident with my pit and cur. The cur started it and def got the worse end of the deal. I took mine to the vet about three days later when he was full of puss and draining.. My suggestion if hes not better in a day or so would be take him to the vet. within four days with meds he was back to his fireball self.

I don't know if this is right but when this has happened to me I take the dog out of the heat or cold.
If the dog is hot I try to cool it down or if the dog is cold I will warm it up.
I bring the dog in the house and make a bed for it and let the dog lay somewhere close to me and let it know I am right there with him/her. The better the dog the more I try.
I will lay some of the clothes I wore that day next to the dog. This way If I need to step out he/she can still smell me even though I am not around.
I BELIEVE THE DOG NEEDS TO KNOW IT IS NOT ALONE TO GIVE IT THE WILL TO LIVE.

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...
