Hunted on a new ranch Sunday morning in Coryell county. Truly one of the nicest places I've ever had the privaledge to hunt. This ranch is a racehorse breeding facility. All road are paved, airplane hangers, runways, helicopter pads, miles of pipe fence...you name it. There's even a private golf course on the place. Lots of old hog sign, and we managed to scratch out one nice sow (who donated an awesome pair of backstraps) that the dogs caught out on in a pond. After the catch, we had three dogs roll out over a mile in three different directions. We were able to get to two of them, but my Buck dog was 1.52 out and inaccessible except by county road. It took us almost an hour to get to him, and I was sure he was bayed because he hadn't moved 20 yards in 45 minutes. We hit the county road and ended up at a house where we met the nicest couple you can imagine...and there lays Buck swinging on a porch swing with this lady who just LOVED Buck. They had come across him in the pasture and he followed them to the house where he was served some scraps and a pail of water. Heck, I had to call him three times before he jumped down, came over and loaded up. Silly dogs... We'll defiinately be going back to this place! Left there, grabbed some lunch and hit another place Sunday afternoon close to my house. Managed two decent boars before heading home. The saddleback dog in the pics is the momma dog to the yellow pups I posted yesterday. Been trying to get her back in shape the past couple weeks, and she's running a little slow but hunting really good for me. Prior to her whelping, she was a pretty loose baying dog that would roll hard after the catch. Since putting her back in the woods, she seems to have acquired a taste for hog and wants to hang around and taste on each one a little bit. Strange that she's doing this, and I jokingly told a hunting partner she must have some built up hostility towards hogs from sitting out a while. Here's a look at one of the greens on the ranch coming down one of the roads. Next trip out, I'll be packing my clubs in the Ranger!

Man that is a nice ranch and some nice dogs Bryant. Good to see you. Its been a while for me but Im getting back on here. Still wish I had the pup I got from you. Man he sure was doing good. Of course you have aways had some good dogs. Ill find the picture of the big boar that he bayed and send it to you. If some one needs to call me on what kind of dogs you have feel free to give them my number, I would be more than happy to let them know that you have some good dogs.

Good hogs Bryant! Sounds like ole Buck was ready for his Spring break! lol. Dont hold it against him. A good meal and a porch swing is hard to pass up in this weather.
