Chris,
I hope y'all are hunting the tournament? We had a blast last year and there were some Great guys with some good dogs there last year. The food was damn good too! Catch has been retired at the request of my wife. Infact, the only thing she put in the prenump was she gets him if she ever has to run me off. Joey, I won't be hunting the tournament. I've got a Texas Parks and Wildlife event in Conroe to attend for LSWDA, then I am heading to Fairfield to pick up a load of alfalfa.

That's too bad! Anyone who lives within 3 hours or so should support this hunt and participate. It is the best one I have ever hunted and we need to support these type of things so that they will continue every year and they will grow into something that has vendors and major sponsors. It amazes me how far people will drive to go to Uncle Earls to watch pen dogs and shop for supposed "hog dogs" when this is right in the center of East Texas, which has the best hog dogs in the world in my opinion, so you would think that a lot of these hog doggers would participate and also see what kind of dogs are available in the area. If I was looking to buy a dog, I would certainly start there because you get to see what they are capable of somewhat. Me personally, I really enjoy the people and talking dogs, not to mention I get a good look at future potential breeding stock. This tournament is geared towards the ability of the dogs and their owners and Cole goes the extra mile to insure that it is a first class operation and run fair and sqaure! Heck, I have never laid eyes on the place I am hunting and I don't care if I don't catch a thing because it is that good of a time! I hope you can make it to weigh in to visit. Also, if you are into top of the line roping horses Cole has some beautiful blue roan Hancock horses that are anywhere from green to points toward their world championship.

JHY Lazy Cajuns is Ok. I like that. SWINE FELLAS is another. SQUEAL DEAL. We got sometime to think about it. Lets hear what the rest of the team and helpers think. Adam and I will swing by Uncle Earls (now that you have bashed it ) and maybe grab a bite to eat and some trinkets for the dogs. Should be up at Buffalo between noon and 3 Pm to help out any way I can. And get in a little bovine therapy! Bud & Adam

I have learned my lesson about talking good about my dogs, because as we all know they will make a liar out of you "QUICKLY", but I think the dogs will do just fine, its my fat self that I am worried about! Between the heat and all the darn barbwire you boys have in that country it will wear us flat land plantation hunters slap out! I am not going to even bring up those Joupon thickets!LOL I will say though I got some of Coles stock, and they are holding up fairly good to all the water and pine/briar thickets we hunt in over here so I am hoping that they will shine in their native terrain. haha I sure hope that a lot of folks turn out and compete or just come down and eat some bugs , bbq and listen to some music. I look forward to seeing some old faces and meeting some new. I will probaly have my Kubota hat on or an oversized bulldog in the back of my white F150, so please shake my hand and visit a minute or 30, but dont touch the dog, he is trained to bite! Me and my crew will be there gonna bring some of these big ole fat thicket hogs up there.
Look forward to visiting with you boys and I am looking forward to seeing some good hogs. Joey

JHY Don't be chewin my butt about my dogs being fat when I get there, after you spent all last summer getting them into hunting shape. I keep em fat so I can keep up. After all, if we are to be the Lazy Cajuns, we have to have fat and lazy dogs too! This is going to be fun and we aRE GOING TO SEE SOME REAL TEXANS roll on ! Maybe I will get me a cowboy hat or some souvenier while there. I will be the Cajun tourist in Buffalo, TX!!! During the Hurricane Katrina search and rescues in flooded New Orleans while all the other SAR teams stood down and were wringing their hands and wondering what to do about all the shooters and stuff, I preped my teams and we went in with guns and got the people out. We went into the hoods that ran the other teams out. I ran into the Texans and they were the only ones that did the same thing that first week. Those Texans were in their airboats with AR-15 "machine guns" in the bow and got nothing but respect from the locals. They were assigned the lower 9th Ward, so the Texans kinda got set up, but they sure kicked butt in the disaster. NOLA and LA will always remember the favor. Texans sure got some bottom and grit. Bud
