Just returned home from testifying before the Texas House of Representatives Committee on Agriculture and Livestock. The LSWDA with the help of many members, friends, supportative individuals and Don Comedy are one step closer to pushing a great bill to law!

We heard some great testimony from LSWDA members, Gonzales County Coon Hunters Assoc., Working Australian Sheperd Association,  National Lacy Dog Association. There was a few oppositions from HSUS and some other tree hugger.

The committee received it well and "word" is we are looking good.

Hopefully people will continue to support this and keep pushing forward. IT is NOW time to contact your Senators and ask them to support this bill! This is very important.

Thanks Lance for authoring a great bill, LSWDA, Steve Williams for putting us into contact with Don Comedy and all who have supported.

Richard Elfrez (Got2catchem), Allen Seaberg, Dinah Psencik (DJhogdogger), James Psencik (Catahoula_cur) and Rex Bumpus (Bump), Steve Williams (Monteria) not pictured.

I watched the streaming video this morning, and was proud to have y'all represent my dogs and I.

The tree hugger you mentioned was with THLN it think.  I noticed she liked to use the word "protection" as a synonym for "restriction" not sure what thesaurus she found that in...

Thank you all for taking your time to go and represent us.  Wish I could have been there myself.

I also watched the live feed and thought overall "working dogs" were presented in a very professional manner.  Kudos for all for the preparation that was involved.

Hopefully this is one more step in the right direction.

Thanks to all of you for your support and representing all working dogs and their peoples at our state capitol!!!  Each of you helped take us one step further to reaching our goal with this bill!!  I watched the Live Stream as well and was very proud of everyone!!!

John Wyble with NAtional Lacy Dog Association, Russ Ford with Australian Shepherd Club of America, and Kenwood Maeker with Gonxales Co. Coon Hunter Association were also there to testify.  Joey Parks, representing TOPs signed a card "FOR" the bill as well as others that did not testify.  All in all I think we only had 3 people to oppose our bill - 2 testifying and 1 signing the card.

You guys look SHARP too!!!

Thanks guys/gal!
Without y'all we would be an unheard voice. And in the public eye a bunch of redneck hoodlums. Thanks for representing us in such a professional manner.

We just got home from Austin. We really enjoyed meeting everyone who attended the hearing. A lot of people put a lot of hard work into this bill, not everyone was able to make it to the capitol so I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone. It was great experience. Even though I thought I was going to pass out while trying to give testimony, it meant a great deal to me.

Everyone did a great job! Smiley

Thanks to all who supported and had a hand in HB 2833 (Falzone/LSWDA Working Dog Preservation bill) getting to this point. This is a prime example of what can happen when we as hog doggers and working dog owners in general, step up and Walk the Talk. We have to stay on task and not let ourselves get complacent.  We still have work to do if we want to see this to the end.

One thing that I would  encourage members to do, is join the LSWDA. For $26.00 a year, you’ll provide support in numbers for an organization that is working to directly and positively impact your rights as a working dog owner.

Oh, I forgot to mention that we left our house yestarday at 3am headed to Austin and around 4:30am we were pulled over in one of the small towns along the way for speeding. While the nice officer was getting James's license and insurance info., Allen Seaburg, who was with us, explained where we were going and why. As it turned out, the officer had not heard of the bill but he was in support of it after we explained it all to him. He gave James a warning. I don't have the warning with me at this time so I don't have his name but I would like to send a BIG thanks out to this Very nice officer.  Grin
