Been doing it for years 14 and 14 is the best schedule for me plenty of time to hunt when u r home. Hard to train puppies unless u have people to help. If you don't go to a company with a set schedule you will work all the time. Some of the smaller companies also lay off as soon as the rig goes in the grass. Off shore is about the same but you can make more money if you go deep water or over seas. Also usually make more money in the Dakotas or Pennsylvania and move up faster cause hands drop like flies in 30 below weather.

Lacy£hunter Job prospects in western nd and eastern mt are as good or better as anywhere else in the country. Cant find experienced hands ( my dad says the company he works for is having the same problem in west tx). Its really not that bad up there ive been there about a yr an a half, ive worked in southern an northern states and i think id rather endure the cold of wyoming or nd than the humidity of east tx or la ( im a dry heat west texas boy ). The pay is good mid 30's for driller an there talking another raise an they dont split our weeks traveling is the main part that sucks.
