I bought a dog off the board last week and the day i got him home i notice a marble sized lump on the left side of his throat. I have felt this before in dogs so i didnt think much about it.. well it has been about 6 days now and the lump is about a golf ball sized now. the lump feels like it is full of fluid ( real squishy) he doesnt act like it bothers him. he is supposedly 2 years old and is a german short haired..  vet time i guess

Yep.....better safe than sorry. I had a male neopalitan mastiff bout 19 years ago and he had the what started out like your saying and ended up as big as a football. Ended up at a specialty vet in Houston and spent well over 1500 bucks and was not done at that point. Turns out he had an infected saliva gland. Had a boston get the same deal and another who had to have a bone removed from the saliva gland.

It could be a swollen gland. Uncle had a dog (several) that had this problem. He hadda take em to the vet and have them surgical removed. Its actually more common then we realized. Its most common in Basset hounds.

yea it felt like a gland when i first felt it... it is internal so i dont think i could get anything out of it if i lanced it or squeezed it. I started him on some antibiotics hopefully its nothin. I bought the dog as a project so I prolly wont spend much money on him... Evil thanks for the advice

I have a six month old pup that her left side of her check swelled, two weeks ago went down in a couple of days.  Go feed em this morning bam it was back again.  By lunch had really swoll so I gave her some benedrayl, it has gone down a little.  Got me pretty worried though, maybe vet time.
