Got two pups about a year old and have ben working them in a bay pin for about two months. the dogs do pretty good in the pin but when i take them in the woods they stick around about 15 yds. When i take them in the woods i run with some buddys that have pretty good dogs and when they bay my pups show no intrest, any sugestions.

How many times have the pups been in the woods? Alot of the time all they need is to figure out what is going on and what they are there to do.... once they start to figure it out, they should atleast start learning what the bay is and head to it and hopefully progress from there....  Wink

Keep em out the bay pen and more woods time. Too much bay pen = Bay pen dog.

You might try taking a hog to the woods tie it to a tree let the dogs bay it a few min then release it in front of them and let them track it/run it down and bay it up. And I agree with the others no more pen work, I've made that mistake.

Thanks for the advice. I have had the dogs about 6 times in the woods and each time is the same thing. The female acts like she wants to run but the male doesent seem intrested he just hangs around. When i jump on a four wheeler to move around the female is right behind me but the male lags behind. The only thing about the male is hes pritty gritty in the bay pin.
