I had a dog named Swig a few years ago and at that time I had a yard full of good jam up strike dogs and a buddy of mine was looking for a sure nuff started dog with the potental to be a jam up strike dog . Swig was from a long long long line of Bmc dogs with some hound in them.  Which ole Swig was already striking his own hogs at 17 months when I sold him to my buddy Bryan .  Bryan hunted ole Swig and he done well and he got better and better then Bryan for some reason had to get out of the hog dogs for a while and sold him to another Buddy of my Brandon which in my opinion Brandon is a hog doggin fool eats drinks and poops hog hunting well ole Swig became his main strike and find dog and as Brandon puts it is one of the best he ever owned .  Well ole Swig died this last year but not before Brandon and Bryan could breed him bred him to a good good 1/8 Red Bone , 1/8 Plott and 3/4 Bmc gyp and got some real real nice pups out of it now these pups have all grown up and are around 15 months old and all doing great .  Swig Jr is one of them Bryan kept the whole liter got them started , trash brokem and got them to finding hogs well my phone rings the other day and it was Bryan saying if I wanted one of those dogs to come get it .  Well I went and this is the dog I got.

Swig Jr is what I call him 15 months old has found his own hog gets out stays busy and ranges from 300 to 1200 from what Bryan tells me not real ruff but puts teeth on the hog when he breaks just right and what i like .  Anyway it sure is good to do people good when it comes to dogs like I did Bryan when I sold him Swig now in return I got me one of them back .

Here he is Swig Jr .  Have not got to hunt him yet but cant wait .  I think he will fall right in with my pack of dogs. Splitting image of his ole man The Swig Dog.

Yeah he is quite when working and tracking the hogs.  I think he might let out a yip here and there if the hog breaks which it dont bother me after they have found the hog.  I kinda like some yips  here and there lets me know which direction they are headed.

I like hound in my dogs 1/4 just about right and 1/8 are so is right on the money with my stuff I got here .  Even got some 1/2 plott that are pretty much quite.

I never hunted with Swig again after they got him I know he was pretty much quite when I had him for  17 months and was on a ton of hogs from the time he could jump over a stump.  He might have opened up some after they got him I dont know but if he did if must have not bothered them because they never complained are have ever said a word about it to me .  This young dog here I have not hunted behind yet but plan on changing that in a few days.  Am told he is pretty much quite a yip here are there after the hog breaks .

Dang that's a good lookin' dog texas,...hope he pans out for you. I don't know what it is or why it is, but a little hound in a dog just seems to polish them off to me. Bet Swig Jr. makes one heck of a dog for you man.....these young folks on here need to take a lesson from this post....if you treat people right, it works to your good almost always,.....sooner or later.

I just hope he turns out .  Like yall say if he hunts like he looks all is gonna be good I sure hope so .  I know his daddy was a good young dog for me and then to Brandon and Bryan for a long time I only know what am told about his momma.  They say he gets out and hunts pretty good all I ask is for is a dog to stay out and busy ck in here and there the rest will come.  I know most are all the litermate have all been together and hunted together since birth a lot of times when you break one away from the brother and sister are maternal pack if they make a dog they usally make a great one there is not much inbetween.

Got out this morning with Thomas, Cory and Kyle .   We got three O noting over 150 but good nuff.   The dogs hunted well Ole Horn sounded off first got us a sow then Black Jack Thomas dog sounded off on a biggen sent the catch dogs the sucker broke never did get him stopped then Ole Swig Jr Sounded off by God and we had another nice hog .  Then Whitey and Horn sounded off and we got this good little sow.  Thomas dog Black Jack was gone cross country on a big boar it took us forever to figure out how to get there walked and walked and walked some more got within 200 and it went quite I guess he got away and Old Black Jack back tracked to the truck .

All in all a great day.  Ole Swig Jr got one hell of a bawl on him he will rattle the trees and most of all he is pretty much silent till he is lookin at the hog .  He never missed a step was out with the big dogs all day .  Pretty dog gone good for a 14 15 month old young dog.

What more can a guy ask for on his first hunt with our crew .
