How many of you have used breaking scents esp. deer breaking scent and does that really work and how yall do it. ive read that u just put it on a dogs collar via a piece of cloth for a couple weeks and it will make dogs loose interest in that scent but not stop them from sight chasing which is very understandable. - im just curious how well it works i have never tried breaking scents - only scents i have ever used is my itty bitty two cents!LOL  Grin Thanks  o yeah and is there any such thing as a general hog scent to train them with? i only seen boar scent - i know training with a live hog is alot better but i just wanted to use this method to check some pups out.

I didn't have much luck with the deer breaking scent found a deal on it and I would dang near bathe the dog in it and she would still run a deer.  The best luck with it was squirt her down and in the face right b4 a hunt but was not perfect

I used to deer break super gamey pups by 6 or 7 months old.
Deer scent and cattle prod.

I used deer scent to break my Hound/cur. I put a shock collar on him and put a few different scent trails and every time he would come to one I would light him up.  I still run a shock collar on him because I feel if he sees one run off he will chase it but he hasn't trailed anymore since I did that.
