Lawrence invited Chris, Mandi, Matt and I out to Navasota this morning. We ended up 6 total... one was a little one and one was an accident. The dogs bayed up on a trap and we didn't realize it until the bulldogs were cut loose. Shocked Tyson blew through the door and caught it. Grin Barred two of the boars, ate dinner and called it a day. Lawrence, thanks again for having us out.

Good times today, good times.  I love to hunt on cold overcast days and today was sure one of them, good hog weather.  Thanks again Lawrence, glad we all got to get together and catch a hog today.

While I'm still on my high from my dog's first "one out" success, I think my favorite part of the hunt was the liberation of that bigger boar/bar. He didn't want to leave the trailer, and it took forever to convince him that life was better on the outside. The guys made use of some Ike Sticks (see M.Ley for details) for nudging the hog out of the trailer. Once he was out, he checked out Matt's back bumper and trailer undercarriage, gave it the piggy OK, and headed out behind the farm house on his way to greener pastures. The other pig was much less dramatic unless you count when he same off his rope with Mike inside the trailer ready to get a hand on him. Some quick reflexes got the cut gate closed and the rope was dropped back on the hog. After that, he was restrained and made his way to the OR. I got the entire changing surgery on camera. We all know how fascinated I am with all things medical :O)

Thanks again guys for another awesome hunt.

Cheers
