Gotta love the summertime.  I took my two older dogs out this morning, which both is under 2 years old, and my young Parker gyp who is alil better than 8 months.  Hit one place and nothing, loaded up and hit another place.  As I dropped the dogs down they ran 80 yards and I hear a pig squeal, then hog hit one of my dogs, and then it sounded like a herd of water buffalo, as the hogs hit the water in the beaver pond.  Happens to be the only beaver pond still holding water good around where I hunt.  Well I got on a hill and watched a good hog swimming and seen my dogs struggling through the lilies and mud while the hog looked like a dang fish.  Seen a couple more hogs run outta an island on the back end as my dogs hit the front end.  I knew they was gonna have problems finding the hogs.  Wound up ten minutes later my yella dog came back limping from a bad snake bite.  His foot is about 3 times his normal size and all the way up where his leg meets his chest.  Well my lil Parker gyp showed treed out in the middle on the island.  Tried to call her out and nothing.  I got worried that she got hit by a hog and was dead for awhile.  Ended up having to go get a boat and spent almost three hours fighting mud, lilies, snakes and blowdowns getting to where it showed her at.  She was laying on the edge of the water with her front end in keeping cool.  Pulled her out and she was snake bit in the same place as the other dog just not so swole up. Just a real rough hunt and hot as all get out but glad the dogs ain't no worse for the wear.
