Gene breeds bear and coon dogs primarily but plotts are bear and hog dogs by default.

R they silent dogs??, hog stock dogs? ? Plotts are a gamble on their mouth. It's like rolling the dice, I really dont care open or silent. The dogs are bred for Bear, Mountain Lion, Coon, and Hogs. The man I bought mine from hunt bear in the West Virginia mountains. Plotts go toe to toe with a bear, the bear only trees if it gets tired. Eugene Walker ships out dogs all over America. Ive been talking to a guy from the country of Turkey and he said Plotts are the only dog that can handle the pure russian boar, they cant use catch dogs cause they'll get killed. Once a pure russian is bayed they shoot em. Where I hunt in Ohio we have steep hills and thick forrest and I need relentless dogs that finish a track. My curs only will go out 700 yards and turn back if they cant stop the hog. Our pigs here are runners and we dont have a lot of them which is a challenge. swish p.s. plotts were originaly called the hanover scent hound specifically bred to hunt boar in Germany. When the plott family came here they crossed with some catahoula and a little black and tan

Does the papers say walkers chopper and walkers glory, or Pocahontas ? The reason I ask is Eugene has a brother named Curtis, that uses "walkers" so and so, and Eugene uses Pocahontas . Bob plott has a book that tells all about plott history.

Gene said he had 3 brothers with the bloodline. I dont know how active they are with selling them. He (Gene) is real active with UKC stuff which everyone pretty much knows that. When I get them I'll let you know. see ya swish

Mr Walker charges 300$ a pup. Fully gauranteed. UKC. Gene has more UKC champion plotts than anyone. He can prove it, his living room is nthe plott hall of fame. I don't know who he ships thru. He sends to Idaho and Utah some to mountain lion hunters.

I have a good friend here on this board (outlaw14slayer) who has been to Eugenes place and bought pups before and still has some... The guarantee is honored by Mr. Walker. He culled the two and sent him two more. These two did damn good at baying a hog. Very intense. But like anytihng else some dogs will work and others will not.

Plott dogs usually cost less than shipping and worth every penny. Gene's family has raised plotts for decades and his brother Curtis has some of the best I have ever seen. My sweetie dog is off his gus dog and she has a pretty good nose on her and it passes on to her pups.
