Dodge a/c ???

My 06 dodge diesel is giving me a/c problems,  I have checked freon and it is not low and have cleaned the condenser pretty good I think but it still won't cool during the hot part of the day which is almost all day lol. At night it will freeze your azz off so I don't know what it is, any help would be great

 Our 06 dodge diesel did exactly the same thing last year. We were thinking that maybe we needed a new compressor or something. One day James (my husband) decided to wash the fins out. First he sprayed them down with water then he squirted some dawn dish soap into them and pushed it in with the waterhose. He let it sit for about 10 or 15 minutes and when he hosed it out again, he said that it looked like mud running out. So he repeated the process a couple of times. After that the a/c started working normal again.

 This may not fix your problem but its an easy and cheap thing to try first.

My compressor went out last September on my 06. I know several people with 06 cummins that did already. I also had injector problems also. Have you?

Boone I have already replaced my compressor 3 times  and my evaporator once and yes I had to change 2 injecters and clean all the rest

 "blows cold for about 30 mins, after traveling and time goes by the air coming from the fan thru the vents gets weaker and weaker. then coming from houston to san marcos i stop for the night, get back in the next afternoon start her up and the compressor is in and out ever 10 seconds, indicating low freon in the system.

after some snooping i also find that the evap. coils are half clogged with algae. this is defiantly blocking fan circulation. this explains why my truck always smells musty when i turn the AC on. i thought it was just the smells of the drilling rig getting in LOL.

mike sounds like you pretty much have checked everything . at this point i would suspect a problem with the condensor fan motor  not moving enough heat or it's overcharged

sfboarbuster there is a drain line on the firewall somewhere (not sure exact location on a 99) it is probably clogged up blow it out and should start draining properly.

Just had my AC in my 06 Dodge diesel replaced in march went out again in July repair man had to replace it the second time for free though.  Friends have had the same truck and had a lot of AC problems seems like a recurring problem in the 06 dodges. Also had a door break off in the AC vent in 08 kept air from flowing through the Vents like it should. AC problems and an 06 dodge seem to go together sure is a shame truck is still running great other wise no other problems except a few electrical problems.

DJHogdogger where are the fins?  Is that gonna be right in front by the radiator?  My truck is doing the same thing although it is not a diesel.

 Yea  I don't know what they are called. They just look like fins to me. Thats girl talk for what ever those things are in front of the radiator.  We always washed them out with water but a whole lot of junk came out when he used dawn soap. Maybe it was a coincidence but the a/c started working fine after he did that and its beens over a year now and still going.

 Okay. I called my husband at work. Its the evaporator coil. A friend of his who is a mechanic told him to try washing it really good because dodges are notorious for getting clogged up with dust and dirt and then the a/c will stop working. Hope this helps. But water alone doesnt' get all of the dirt out. It takes detergent and let it set for at least 10 minutes.

Anyone know what to do for AC leaking water onto the floorboard on a '99 dodge diesel?

Look under the ac drier on the passenger side firewall under the hood. Just below it on the firewall, there is a drain. It looks like a 3/4 nipple. Problem is the nipple doesn't stick out very far, so the condensation runs back into the passenger side of the firewall, and ending up soaking the passenger side floor board.  Go get you about two feet of 3/4 heater hose, a hose clamp, and a couple zip ties. Hook the hose over the nipple, put the clamp on it, and route the drain line down the firewall attaching it.with the tie wraps.

It's a five minute job total, and it will fix your leaking ac for good.

My girlfriend has an 05 and that flap fell and i got mad and jerked the dash out at a barrel race trying to figure it out

When say overcharged do you mean with freon?? My compressor kicks on and off every 10-15 seconds it seems

that kicking on and off is either low on freon or the low froen  pressure switch ..just my .02
