Ya I love it aint no doubt about that I do love it but I think Am about ready to just cut all this down to my best four - five dogs and a bulldog and call it good.  Tired of having 12-18 dogs yr in and yr out and a liter are two a year are so.  I can't even remember how long that has been going on over 20 years I would say.  It was all good when my boys were home and could help out they have all gone their on ways now and have their on families now and its turn into a damn chore for one man to do all of that.  I been spending  atleast 250.00 - 300.00 bucks a month on dog food since I can remember.  Back in the good ole days we were buying it by the ton when I had my bulldogs 600.00 a month was a good month.  Always have loved a great athletic hunting dog and what I loved more than that was to breed my own but bout ready to give all that up and just enjoy the hunts and my dogs.  Its been a long time coming.

just don't get rid of all the dogs like I did in 07...I decided to get back in and my first pit was a looker but a cull. second one will make a good one.

my first 2 female mtn curs did not take twice in a row and today the older female I got from a friend is having trouble having pups... lost sleep today going to vet and here it is 9 pm and fixing to go home from work to see what I can do for her...only one pup in 8 hrs and the vet said if no more pups have her at the office for a C section at 8 am...Cost me 75 dollars today and no telling how much in the morning when I get off of work...

back in the early 80's it was slow getting started finding good dogs and here it is late 2011 and am having a few obstacles to overcome...I do have 2 prospects but am counting on a few good pups to select from and train...

hate to here it but if you need to find a home for any decent dogs ill gladly give them a good hunting home. I had to reluctantly sell out a few months back due to havin to move into an apartment and now having trouble findin decent dogs that i can afford to get. Good luck to you in your decision but just know that you have a young hunter tryin to get restarted that will not do any "dog peddlin" just pm me if you or anyone else is lookin for good hunting homes.

Jimmie I know what you mean. I have been feeding and scooping 6 for a few years and it is much more tolerable. I was ready to bail on all of them before I cut down. I guy don't want to act when it is in the heat of the moment. By the way I talked to Thomas' sister and he is in the hospital thanks to a spider bite. Hooked up to an iv with antibiotics. I got a call in but he hasn't called back.

Just talked to him on the phone in the hospital.  Said they dont know what bit him but it was on the knee, said his knee was swollen so bad yesterday he could not walk on it and three times its normal size.  Said the swelling has went down now and were it bit him is about the size of a silver dollar red and looks bad.  Said the Dr didnt think it was a spider but what ever it was had a dirity dirity mouth .  He said he wondered if it was not one of those tick like louses that you see crawling all over some hogs sometimes.  All this happened after they got back from hunting the other day.

I cut back to 3 cur dogs this past year.   If I can't get it done with the three I have, then another 10-12 isn't gonna do me any good. Wink
