well i just got back from the dog pen and boy i was in for a suprise. ok i had a gyp that just came in heat .  so my catchdog broke his chain and got in the baydog pen. now it still burns me up beacuse his chain is huge. the biggest chain iv put a dog on. but hes a 100  plus pound dog. well he got in there and him and my best 2 strike dogs got into it. now i assume they jumped the catchdog cuz they cant reach eachother. the catchdog may not make it. they look like they all 3 got hit by a train. so now im out of hunting for atleast a couple weeks and on top of that my gyp may be bred to my catch dog.   makes me wana just sell the dogs and everything else. makes me sick, and i feel the one to blame cuz i didnt move the gyp out of the pen lastnight.

im so frustrated just had to let it out.

I had a gyp dig out of the pen when in heat. I am building stronger kennels on a slab with a solid roof.

As someone who used to certify chain rigging, I can't stress enuff that you should really use load rated chain. The darn hardware store chain wears out to fast. Had active pit bulls on chain setup that last up to 5 years. Sometimes the attachment hardware needs to be replaced. I've never had a chain break but had a slipped collar that cost an arm and a leg.

I agree... Load rated chains, links, swivels, and good anchors. Tractor supply has some good heavy duty anchors... we make custom ones too!  Grin Let me know if you are interested and I'll send you some pics of the anchors...

Not if it is underground....run your chain through it and back to its self, dig a hole with post hole diggers about a foot deep and drop in block with chain running out the top....works great and the price is good.  Grin

Yes sir! I bet that does work. Do you not worry about tangling up though?

Naaa, you put a good heavy big swivel at the collar and if you really want you can put another up the chain a foot or so out of the ground if you want.

Hmmmm... that's a really good idea. Never thought of that. I guess when one of your buddies works metal it kinda creates other options. Thanks for that, and I'll put that in my memory banks!  Wink Grin
