this is my 8 year old after a long days hunt he can ride the hair off a horse but we caught him sleeping on thjs hunt.he tells me all the time that he is going hunting by himself behind the house but he hasn't done it yet I no the day is coming when I come home and all my dogs will be gone.I already have had to go get ropes off of cows that he has roped and let the rope go not an easy chore .I have had people tell me that they can't get there kids to go to bed.I could take DR. PHIL's job buy them a chicken, goat, dog, pellet gun, and horse they will beat you to bed.You can't get 30 foot from some of my goats my boy has them so rope shy and he has a 3 year old brother they chases them all day.

Good stuff, Hey Cward what's the story on the brand on the horse I looks like the Running W they use down here on the King but with the bar on top and bottom, is it yours or come with the horse? Sorry for being nosy my sister talked a guy into making a map of Texas Counties 1st brand recorded and went a step further and made one of 1st Spainish, Republic and State brand registered in all 254 counties so it's always got my curiosity about the history of a brand after that

Bar W Bar is my brand regerster in liberty and sanjacinto countys I own a cow calf pair operation and 30 Ranch horses. The brand came from my grand pa. He had the brand just like the king ranch but called it a flying w my grand pa owned flying w rodeo company. My dads brand is Bar W and my uncles brand is W Bar So I toook Bar W Bar .But one of my uncles has a brand called Bar B.Q. and O.K I thought they were neat brands.I use to freeze brand animals so I think studying brands is pretty neat.

That boy can ride horses in his sleep. lol. My dad first started taking me around 5 or six years old, and when he had to get off the horse to go to a bay in thick brush, he would leave me to baby sit the horse or the horse to baby sit me, I'm not sure which. lol Keep them in the woods.....I dont rememeber much back at that age but I can remember some hunts from back then and they are some of my best memories. Your boys will come to appreciate it when they get older if they don't allready.

What a great picture!
Warning!!!
It will be a little frustrating when he starts hunting on his own if he is like mine! Skinny dogs you cant keep seem to keep weight on, lost leashes, muddy 4 wheeler with bent handle bars, headlamps and flashlights that are nowhere to be found, and scattered tie rope/ hobbles to name a few! lol I hate to even mention the fact that he has a better hog dog than I do!
As much as I complain and yell about it he still makes me proud to see him hunting and fishing on his own now!
Considering the alternatives for teenagers these days I don't mind putting up with it at all!
Keep them kids in the woods and on the water I say!
