my cousin called and said a farmer we hunt on was feeding out calves and feedig three times more than normal due to the hogs and was needing help , I got a group together , me , marvin , casey - bayem & slayem , kenny , kenny and robert , and a pack of dogs , we covered a huge circle on ATVs , no sign , about a half mile from the truck a there was a small hill with a 2 acre thicket on the back side of it was there hide out , nest everywere , the dogs bayed up , we turned three catch dogs loose from two angles and they all got the same hog , we get her handled and get coco off and to the next bay I go , its a big boar bayed in the wide open , I was so pumped to be able to see it and not be in super thick stuff but anyway he busted and the bay dogs ate his a$$ up for 20 yrds and as soon as he turned to fight coco caught him and I legged him , the dogs caught a few small ones out of a nest and we loaded up and headed for the truck , talked to the land owner at the truck and he said we were in the wrong spot so he showed us the property and said please come back , first thing that morning when I let the dogs go they ran around and crapped and all the guys were talking , I was watching my 2 dogs just standing looking across this huge pasture ,I thought this was strange , this hill was on the other side of this pasture maybe a half mile from us, I wonder why the dogs didnt go if they smelt hog , or if they smelt it ,they were sure looking hard but never left out , and made us travel miles before we circled back and found them , I wonder why , did the huge open pasture throw them off ? trusting there eyes and not there nose ? and one of the dogs is a 6 year old seasoned dog
