At first the Vet felt it was a tick bourne disease but all tests that came back, were negative. He seemed to be responding to the Antibiotics that had been given to him, as Tuesday he was barking and trying to get off the chain to make a hunt. However Wednesday evening he regressed and was going down hill again, Friday morning he was bad. I took him in, and had a feeling he was not going to make it. The Vet X-rayed his chest and said he 70% of his lungs were covered in Fungal Infection and said it was slim chance he would ever be able to hunt again if he survived. This morning I got the call that he went out for a walk and collapsed, it was over. So I wanted to let you know we lost a  very good UglyDog.

All dogs have their flaws, The only flaw I could find in Lotto, was that when we hunted him, he would hunt until he ran the pads off of his feet, by the GPS that would be about 20+ miles most days. Because he hunted so fast and thouroughly coverd alot of ground.
Everybody enjoyed hunting with Lotto because he was one of those dogs that never growled or showed any aggression, did not have a desire to mess with anything but a hog. Easy going and always hunting, never had to worry about him being under your feet, you could take on any hunt with anyone anytime. Just One Good Solid Lead STRIKE DOG, that had the potential to be great had he not left at such a young age of 3+ years old. We will miss him greatly. He is one of those dogs we hope we be waiting in our pack for us on the other side.

Sorry to hear that, Krystal.

I lost the best dog I ever owned at 2 1/2 yrs old to the same type lung infection back in October.  Terrible way for a good dog to go out.

Sorry to hear about Lotto. Wish I knew what caused that fungal infection that killed him?
