Saturday at about 5  oclock in the evening we loaded up and went to somerset. We stopped to eat on the way to waste a little time hoping the hogs would be moving early with the cool overcast day. I guess we dumped them at about seven oclock and started walking to the river we walked a good mile made a circle and walked in the middle of a dry creek about hundred yards away fromt the river where they had been seen alot the week before bedding down. As soon as we got in there you could tell the hogs did alot of rooting and bedding in this muddy creek. We walked down it for a good 200 yards and came out pretty close to the river and turned around to look for my dog and she opened up secods later about 80 yards away. We ran to the top of this hill with the catchdogs waiting for her to get some help from the other bay dog we had. he got there and joined in when cut the pits loose and saw them getting real close and then we see this big boar start running with all the dogs chasing him through this thick creek bottom we started going that way praying he would stop. About 75 yards from where he took off he was caught. This all happened during the day but my camera pics suck without flash sorry. After we killled this hog we started looking at the dogs and noticed every pit was cut and my pit was bleeding bad. and had a real deep cut. My pit bleed the most and is acting the worse but the white pits tendon on her foot got split completely. My black and white catchdog had a real deep on lucky it wasnt in a bad spot. My buddy had to stay there with the dogs and i went and got the truck cause my catchdog could not walk. We finally got the hog out headed to my buddys stitched up all three catchdogs and called it a night. It was a good easter besides these dogs being all cut up. I might be out awhile hopefully the catchdogs will heal real quick. I think this boar was about 250.
